Obituary of William George Duncombe
from Deckerville, Michigan newspaper.
William G. Duncombe. one of Forester
township's most honored and respected citizens.
died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
T. R. Pattullo. Monday evening. April 5. 1909. at
9:00 o'clock at the age of 70 years, 1 month and
2 days. he had been a victim of heart disease
several years, valvular heart disease being the
direct cause of death.
Mr. Duncombe was born in England and came
to Canada when a boy. About 13 years ago he came
to Forester where he since resided making his home
with his son-in-law, T. R. Pattullo since his wife died
about eight years ago.
He was a member of the
Marion Baptist Church and an earnest Christian
worker, loved and respected by all who knew him.
The remains were shipped to Ingersol, Ontario,
Tuesday afternoon accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. T. R.
Pattullo and Mr. & Mrs. E. Welt from which place the
body was taken to Sanford, Ontario and interred beside
those of his deceased wife.
Mr. Duncombe is survived by two sons and two
daughters: F. W. Duncombe of California. Mrs. E. Welt
and Mrs. T R. Pattullo of Forester. and George Duncombe
of Salford, Ontario, who have the sympathy of their
many friends in the loss of their beloved father.
